About
An honest experiment in seeing value in one unit.
Denominate prices the same everyday things in dollars and in bitcoin, over time, so you can tell whether prices are rising or money is shrinking.
The unit is a choice. A price is not a fact about a thing; it is a comparison to whatever we happen to measure with. When the measuring stick changes, everything measured with it seems to move. Bitcoin is a very different stick: fixed in supply, global, and divisible into 100 million satoshis.
Denominate shows both readings side by side. A coffee that looks more expensive in dollars can look cheaper in bitcoin, and the other way around. The point is not that one number is right. The point is to see the difference, and then to ask which one it is.
This is an experiment, not advice. Bitcoin is volatile, and the figures are reference rates rather than executable prices. Every number shows its source and whether it is observed or an estimate, because a comparison is only useful if you can trust it.
